LUV 2 TUMBLE Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)
How much is the monthly tuition?$35 per month for one 60 minute class per week. Check or cash please. Please note if your check is returned, there will be a $20 returned check fee.
Would you like $5 off next month's tuition?Refer a friend to tumble with me! When they sign up with me and stay at least a month of lessons then you will receive $5 off next month's tuition. Friends are great!!!
What should my tumbler wear?It is important for your child's safety that he or she wears comfortable and safe athletic clothing. Boys can wear T-shirts and shorts or sweatpants. Girls can wear a leotard alone or with tights (without feet), shorts, or sweatpants, or a T-shirt instead of a leotard (please make sure the T-shirt can be tucked in and stays in while upside down). Shorts and pants with elastic waistbands are best.
NO LEVI MATERIAL ALOUD. I ask that our tumblers go barefoot to help prevent slipping on the equipment. Also, please be sure all medium or long hair is pulled back and secured tightly with an elastic. Fancy barrettes or clips may hurt your child's head during rolls. Please keep all jewelry and watches at home, as I am not responsible for them being lost or misplaced and students will be asked to remove these items for the safety of themselves and the spotter.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND A WATER BOTTLE WITH YOUR CHILD since we do not have a water fountain.
Are there any other fees? No, not at this time.
Are there any other costs? There may be a program put on for your child/children to show you what they've learned. If you sign your child/children up for this activity it will have a fee assigned to it and you will need to pay that fee at the time you sign up for the activity. The fee would cover the cost of a place to rent and also awards. However, there are no other mandatory costs associated with the Tumbling Class.
What about family discounts?Family discounts are given to families with one or more students enrolled in the program at the same time. The family discount is $5 off of the monthly tuition of the second student and each additional student with a maximum of $20 off per month for a family discount.
When are the monthly fees due?Tuition is due on or before the last scheduled class time of the month for the next month's enrollment. For example, if you would like to continue to be enrolled for February and your child is scheduled for Monday classes at 3:15, then tuition is due by the last Monday of January to guarantee your spot. If you haven't paid tuition by the first class of the month, then your child/children will not be able to participate and their spot will not be reserved until tuition is paid. This helps me plan for the number of students in each class for the next month. Thank you for your understanding.
Are monthly statements mailed? No. Monthly statements are not mailed.
What should we do if we decide not to attend anymore? If you decide not to attend anymore, please come in or call me to let me know. If you do not let me know that you are dropping the class before the next month starts, you will be charged at least a portion of the next month's tuition, so please let me know as soon as possible. I would also appreciate you letting me know the reason you are dropping the class. This helps me provide better service to customers in the future.
Do I have to pay for lessons my child does not attend? The fees are based on enrollment, not attendance. If you need to miss a class,
call before your child's class starts and let me know so that we can schedule a make-up lesson. Please note that make-up lessons are ONLY available for those who have missed a class for a valid reason (ex: vacations, Dr's appointments, sickness . . . ). If there is room, the make-up classes will be scheduled with another class that is already taking place. There will also be a make-up class every second Tuesday of the month at 5:10 PM as long as there are 3 or more students that have been scheduled for a make-up class for that day.
Please always call beforehand to arrange a make-up class. Please note that you will need to contact me within two weeks after the missed class to schedule a make-up class. If a make-up class is not scheduled within two weeks, then a make-up class will no longer be offered. This will help keep things running smoothly and for those that need to do a Tuesday make-up class we will have a list sooner than later.
However, there are occasions when you may not be able to make any of the make-up alternatives. In these cases, you are still responsible for paying for the class, since a space was held for your child. However, you have two months to make up a missed class. Please note that make-up lessons scheduled and missed without prior notification will be considered made-up. Make-up lessons are NOT guaranteed, so I recommend you make every effort to attend your regularly scheduled class as much as possible.
There may be a time when I need to cancel the class(es) because I would be unable to coach the class. In that case, there will be two or more (depending on the circumstance) make-up classes that month. I will inform you if the class is canceled for that day by phone and/or email and I will let you know of the other make-up day(s).
What if we decide to take a vacation? If you need to miss a class for a vacation, please let me know in advance the date(s) your child will be gone. We can schedule a make-up lesson before you go on vacation or when you return from vacation. We can schedule a make-up lesson in another class if there is room, or we'll schedule for a Tuesday make-up day. Make-up lesson availability is NOT guaranteed. You will be charged your regular monthly fees for each month you are enrolled, whether or not your child attends every class.
What about days Tumbling is canceled? Most of the time, there will be four lessons in each month, but sometimes, due to the calendar and holidays, you will receive either 3 or 5. I will have a schedule of days when there will be no tumbling because of holidays for you to have. Please be sure that you get one. Please check the schedule for those dates. For your convenience, the monthly tuition will be the same rate each month. There are no makeups for the days tumbling is closed for holidays, and throughout the full calendar year you will receive either 47 or 48 lessons, depending on the calendar for that year.
Can my child practice at home?I recommend for their safety that the students do not practice their gymnastics skills at home without proper equipment and matting. If you have access to mats or other types of equipment, never let your child use those items without proper supervision, and never allow your child to do skills that need to be spotted without a trained spotter present. I am not responsible for ANY injury resulting from practicing skills anywhere outside my home. However, basic strength and flexibility work can be done at home, such as push-ups, sit-ups, and stretching.
Can I watch my child's class? You are welcome to watch your child's class. Please give me a call ahead of time so that we don't have more than a few visitor's at one time because of space. I do have an important safety rule that accompanies this policy: Anyone other than an enrolled student in a class with me must stay in the appropriate area at all times. I will not make any exceptions to this policy! If your other children are unable to watch without getting on the equipment, I will have to ask you to wait for your gymnast somewhere else. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I know it is hard for children to watch without "trying" it out for themselves, but this is a safety issue. I can only allow myself to take children on the equipment. Therefore, even if a piece of equipment is not being used, it cannot be played on while you are waiting. Thank you for your cooperation on this safety issue!
What if I have questions about my child's class/progress, who should I talk to?If you have specific questions about your child's progress in class, you can speak to me before tumbling classes start or after the last class. I can discuss your child's skill sheet and what skills he/she needs to accomplish before moving up to the next level. If you need a longer meeting please let me know and we can arrange a time to address your questions.
Please keep in mind that I am interested in providing the best environment for each child in the class. I will let you know as soon as a student needs to be moved into the next level. I will make sure that the student has learned the skills both correctly and consistently in order to ensure the best chance of success at the next level.
What if I have questions about my account or scheduling, who should I talk to?You can talk with me after your child's class with quick questions about your account, making payments, scheduling make-ups, or arranging a permanent schedule change. Please note that if you need to make arrangements that will take more than a few minutes, to please call or come over after the last Tumbling session of the day so that I can spend my time with the class that is going to start. If you happen to reach my answering machine, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can.
Can I leave my child at the gym before and after class? Please try not to bring your child more than five minutes before class starts, or to leave your child for more than five minutes after class. This is important for your child's safety, as I am unable to provide care for each individual child other than during scheduled class times. It also is very upsetting for children who are late getting picked up from their class.
What about parking? If you are dropping your child off, please pull up to the front of the driveway slowly and let your child out. Please do not park in the driveway. If you need to park for any reason, please park along the street. When picking your child up, a line will form in front of the driveway going East and you may pull forward in front of the driveway to pick up your child, or you may park on the side of the road and wait. Please be patient and courteous of other parents as this will be a busy time of dropping off and picking up children. Also, please drive slowly and watch out for children.
What if I have questions about my child's instructor, who should I talk to?If at any time you have a comment or concern with me, please feel free to come talk with me or leave a message to call you back. I will contact you to discuss your concerns. I want you to feel comfortable with myself, and I will do my best to resolve the situation.
When will my child move up to the next level? Each student moves up at his or her own pace. Each student has a skill sheet of the skills necessary to pass off before moving to the next level. As soon as all the skills are passed off, I will recommend that your child move up to the next level. I will contact you with the days and times available and/or also let you know of another gym to attend to proceed to the higher levels.
What if my child is sick? Please make sure that if your child has ANY symptom of a cold or illness that you make arrangements with me to do a make-up class. We do not want to spread bugs around. Be aware that if you bring your child to class with symptoms, I will call you to come pick your child up and schedule a make-up class. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
What can I expect from LUV 2 TUMBLE?Safety, positive reinforcement, and fun are only three of the things you can expect for your tumbler. At LUV 2 TUMBLE, your child's safety comes first. I am Safety Certified with
USAG (the national governing body of our sport). I believe that all students, regardless of skill level, will benefit from participation in tumbling. I structure classes so that each student progresses at his or her own rate, and moves up as soon as he or she can do the skills safely and correctly. I believe in positive reinforcement and in teaching skills in many different ways to reach kids of all learning styles. I know that tumbling is FUN, and I want to share the joy of tumbling with my students. I love kids, and I love tumbling...what a great combination!
